Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Electronics Technician I to support operations at USAFA.
This entry-level role is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used across campus facilities.
The technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical infrastructure through hands-on support and collaboration with senior technicians and engineers.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
+ Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of electronic systems including communication and control equipment
+ Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on electronic devices
+ Troubleshoot and repair basic system faults under supervision, using schematics and technical manuals
+ Document service activities, test results, and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
+ Collaborate with senior technicians on upgrades and ensure compliance with safety and USAFA standards
+ Respond to service requests and support emergency repairs as needed
Qualifications:
+ 1–3 years of experience in electronics maintenance, troubleshooting, or installation
+ Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field preferred
+ Technical certifications in electronics, HVAC controls, or building automation systems are highly desirable
+ Familiarity with basic electronic theory, circuit analysis, and diagnostic tools
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
+ Basic understanding of electronic components, wiring, and system functionality
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Physical Requirements:
Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.

+ May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
+ Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.
Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
+ Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
+ Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this position.
+ A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
+ Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
