Technical Systems Support Services:
The Contractor shall perform troubleshooting, tear-down, repair, refurbishment, overhaul, assembly, testing, and installation services for designated equipment at the request of FAALC Product Divisions or Groups.
Labor categories required to provide these services may include Electronics Technicians and Engineering Technicians as necessary to meet specific task requirements.
Electronic Technician Services:
The Contractor shall provide electronics technician services to the various FAALC Group/Product Divisions to help assure that electronic systems, subsystems, and components meet serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements.
These services may include tasks such as electronic system/subsystem/component troubleshooting, repair, assembly, refurbishment, installation, calibration, and testing.
This could include test fixture and prototype design, analysis of equipment performance, data collection and equipment installation.
The Contractor shall complete all tasks in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, technical instructions, and quality procedures.
System/Subsystem/Component/Troubleshooting, Repair, and Test:
The Contractor shall troubleshoot, repair, and test electronic components and equipment so as to return unserviceable equipment to serviceable status.
Items to be repaired may include electronic assemblies and components, electronic cables and wiring harnesses, circuit cards, prototype, test fixtures and test beds.
The repair process may include functions such as item disassembly/assembly, circuit analysis, item repair, and parts replacement with possible performance analysis.
After repair, the Contractor shall complete applicable calibration, testing, and certification processes.
All process functions shall be performed and documented as specified in the technical documentation applicable to the equipment.
Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Test:
The Contractor shall assemble cables, wiring harnesses, circuit cards, and other electronic assemblies and components based on FAALC-provided technical documentation.
The Contractor may be required to install and to perform test and calibration functions for this equipment.
Equipment Installation:
The Contractor shall install electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, modifications and engineering prototypes.
The Contractor may be required to perform adjustment, test, and certification functions for this equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul.
+ Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair.
+ Circuit board testing and repair
+ Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses.
Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting.
+ Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification.
+ Installation of equipment and components, and modifications.
+ Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes.
+ Structural inspection of towers and tower components at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
+ Maintenance on the inside and outside of tower structures at heights in excess of 50 feet, but not to exceed 750 feet.
Labor includes, but not limited to, installation, removal and maintenance of communication antennae, surveillance systems, safety wire, tower guy wire pull-off shackles and tower obstruction lighting systems.
+ Moderate lifting and carrying (50 lbs.), straight pushing and pulling, reaching above shoulders, use of fingers and both hands required, walking and standing, repeated bending, climbing, crawling, kneeling (use of both legs and arms), operation of crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle, both eyes required with depth perception and ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of colors, hearing (aid permitted).
+ This position could potentially be in support of inter-agency entities; additional background investigation may be required to determine suitability.
+ Due to the limitations of fall protection gear, the minimum weight for an applicant is 125lbs, the maximum weight is 290lbs.
+ Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components on NAS and Inter-Agency systems.
+ Working from ropes at heights.
+ Operation of equipment such as boom man lifts and motorized forklifts.
+ Performing corrosion control and prevention.
+ Tower Climbing / Work at heights in excess of 50’.
+ Keeps Crew Leads informed of assigned tasks and status.
Enters time into Data Collection and Reporting System (DCRS) daily to ensure timely billing of hours.
+ Prepare FAA and interagency assets for shipment to and from field site, vendor locations and/or Federal Aviation Administration Logistic Center, (FAALC).
+ Perform basic troubleshooting of electronic/electro-mechanical systems to include fault isolation, removal, and replacement of failed Line Replaceable Units, (LRU’s) required to return the system to full operational capability.
Training, procedures, or guidance will be provided.
+ Work independently to perform Corrective Maintenance, (CM’s) on FAA and interagency systems in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
+ Work independently to perform Preventive Maintenance, (PM’s) on FAA and interagency systems, in accordance with local and FAA policy and procedures.
+ To include all Safety related courses.
Attend all Training Classes as required to maintain sufficient knowledge of repair procedures for all systems.
+ Position requires traveling, up to 70%, and may entail emergency call outs for corrective maintenance as required.
**Qualifications**
+ An associate degree in electrical or engineering technology, OR completion of equivalent formal technical training courses, is required.
+ Assisting in producing, reviewing, revising, and interpreting technical documents; assisting in designing, fabricating, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, and prototypes; developing and performing equipment and component adjustment, test, and certification processes; and in installing equipment and modifications.
+ Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successful complete a physical fitness evaluation, which includes specific weight restrictions of minimum 125lbs and maximum of 290lbs.
+ NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust.
+ Estimated Monthly Travel required for this position: 70%.
+ A valid driver's license is required.
+ Must possess TWO forms of unexpired identification to meet eligibility requirements:
+ One Primary form of government-issued identification, selected from the following:
+ Valid REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or state-issued ID card.
+ U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation ID Card.
+ U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card.
+ Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551).
+ U.S. Military or U.S. Military dependent’s ID Card with photograph.
+ U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card.
+ One secondary form of identification, such as:
+ Social security card.
+ Original or certified copy of a birth certificate.
+ Certificate of U.S. Citizenship or Naturalization.
+ Voter registration card.
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Rope repelling / on rope work at heights.
+ Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations is highly desired.
+ Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components.
+ Preventative maintenance and replacement of tower, radome and cab glass components.
+ Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components.
+ Experience with:
+ Operation of boom man lifts.
+ Operation of motorized forklift.
+ Ability to work at heights.
+ Completion of trip reports.
