We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Design Engineer with an active US Secret security clearance to work onsite in El Segundo, CA in our Secure Information Solutions division.
Our Secure Information Solutions (SIS) division works to protect information.
With more than 100 NSA certified products, we are broadly engaged across all aspects of information transmission, delivering innovative solutions that span space, ground, airborne, shipboard, government, civil, and commercial customers.
Our engineers design, develop and test products that protect information up to the highest level of national security, focusing on data encryption/decryption and cybersecurity.

What you will do:
Perform hardware detailed design work, from requirements phase, through detailed design, all the way through hands-on lab testing, debug and integration.
Work closely with team to ensure implementation meets the product requirements.
This includes producing and managing Bill of Materials (BOMs), schematics and also associated drawings that comprise a hardware technical drawing package (TDP).
Your responsibilities as a Responsible Design Engineer (RDE) also include generating required analysis and design documentation, preparing and conducting design reviews, and being responsible for adhering to allocated budget and project schedule.
Create required project documentation in support of contract deliverables, including development plans, requirement and design specifications, and hardware test documents
Independently manage time and prioritize tasks to achieve results within cost and schedule constraints
Resolve issues found during engineering test in a timely manner, taking risk into account
Qualifications You Must Have:
Minimum 5 years digital hardware development experience.
Experience with both OrCAD and Mentor DxDesigner schematic entry.
Applicant shall be well versed in schematic entry design tool and have hands-on lab debug experience utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and general lab equipment.
Experience developing embedded hardware platforms utilizing ARM based microprocessors and FPGAs.
Excellent organizational, decision making and communication skills.
Hands-on hardware test & integration expertise.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with Xilinx MPSoCs architecture and embedment
Experience with requirements management using DOORS
Experience with configuration management tools
Knowledgeable in NSA crypto certification process
Proven experience in large complex hardware/software developments, many years of embedded development
