The Boeing Company is currently hiring for Embedded Software Engineers (Associate/Experienced/Senior) to join the Phantom Works Mission Systems Software team located in Berkeley, MO .

 This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

You will work in a collaborative team environment helping to develop real-time software solutions, utilize simulations and emulations, and develop software processes in order to meet customer capabilities.

 This will include developing software and software tests throughout all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification).

The software engineer will develop software in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) DevSecOps software build pipeline using an agile methodology focused on code quality, security and automation

Position Responsibilities:

•    Supports the design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards
•    Assists with review, analysis, and translation of customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems
•    Supports building and writing code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware
•    Contributes to integration of embedded software with hardware components
•    Supports analysis, monitoring and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems
•    Participates in testing and debugging software for embedded devices and systems
•    Supports implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies
•    Supports tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
•    Assists with performing embedded software project management functions
•    Develop and implement automated testing frameworks and scripts to validate software functionality and performance.
•    Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system testing, focusing on automated testing methodologies.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):


•    2+ years of professional software development experience
•    2+ years of software development experience with either C++ and/or on the Linux Operating System 
•    2+ years of experience with setting up and maintaining a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

•    3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
•    5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
•    Experience or familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline techniques and software factories such as DevOps & DevSecOps
•    Experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems involving computer memory or timing considerations.
•    Experience or familiarity with industry tools or development techniques such as the following.
o    Embedded Systems Software
o    Linux
o    Rust
o    Containers (Docker and Kubernetes)
o    CMake
o    Git
o    CI/CD DevSecOps (Jira, Gitlab, Ansible, & Artifactory)
o    MSOSA (UML, SysML)
o    Automated Testing, SAST, and DAST (Google Test, Cucumber, Coverity, and SonarQube)

Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel: 
Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $90,100 - $121,900
Summary Pay Range Experienced (Level 3): $110,500 - $149,500
Summary Pay Range Senior (Level 4): $132,600 - $179,400
