Job Title: EMCS/Controls Technician - Part Time - (DOE F)


JOB SUMMARY: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a part-time (M-F) EMCS/Controls Technician in Washington, DC at the Forrestal Site who has or is able to obtain a Q (Top Secret) clearance.

This location is Metro Accessible.

The work schedule is: Monday – Friday; :pm – :pm.

This position is covered by the CBA for Local .

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs, services and repairs environment-control systems in commercial buildings, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout

  • Operate the Energy Management Control System and Power Control Console which includes Direct Digital Control (DDC), Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Uninterrupted Power System (UPS), Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Motor Control Center (MCC), Chiller, Air Handler, VAV and boilers

  • Seek out and correct potential problems before they occur.
  • Qualifications:

  • Have at least five () years of experience operating electrical, HVAC and mechanical systems in a data-center environment

  • Experience with operating and monitoring Building Automation Systems in mission critical working environment

  • Must possess knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including HVAC operation and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods and equipment

  • Be able to communicate, work well with customers/co-workers and handle being under pressure at times

  • Have good organizational skills with completing paperwork and managing inventory

  • Must currently have Q clearance or Top Secret Clearance
