Job description

Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.

Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.

Applicants selected will be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, citizenship is required.


Responsibilities for this Position


ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As an EMI Test and Design Engineer, you will be a key part of a cross-functional team responsible for designing complex and mission-critical systems.

In this role, you will support the Airborne Systems business area developing EMI architectures and the EMI testing of airborne mission computers, sensor processing systems, and stores management systems, with opportunities to work across GDMS on other defense systems.

You will engage in all program phases, including requirements analysis, developing EMI filtering approaches, developing grounding and power architectures, PCB/PWB routing oversight, EMI development & test support for engineering, integration, test, and qualification.

The initial focus of this role will be supporting risk reduction testing, formal qualification testing, and documentation.

The position will transition into a hybrid designer and testing role over time.

We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: EMI Testing with Tile! Test software, LabVIEW experience, developing EMI Test Procedures and Reports, working knowledge of MIL-STD-461/464/704 & RTCA DO-160, and advanced working knowledge of EMI lab equipment.

What sets you apart:

  • iNARTE Certified EMC Engineer certification is preferred.
  • Advanced experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, wave form generators, signal generators, amplifiers, transient generators, and power meters.
  • Advanced experience with EMI/EMC troubleshooting to resolution.
  • Extensive working knowledge and testing experience of MIL-STD-461/464/704 standards and associated testing equipment.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, breaking down complex technical problems logically and finding efficient solutions.
  • Cross-disciplinary communication skills, working effectively with software, electrical, systems, mechanical, integration and test teams.
  • Team collaboration, offering and receiving feedback constructively, and mentoring junior engineers when needed.
