Location: Colorado Springs, CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $41.17 - $41.17/hourly

Deadline: October 31, 2025

Tessera is seeking a dedicated Energy Monitoring & Control Systems Operator to help maintain safe, efficient, and comfortable building environments.

In this role, you'll monitor and control HVAC and electrical systems using EMCS software, respond to alarms and service calls, and support energy conservation efforts.

Your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to operational excellence will make a meaningful impact across campus.


Typical duties include but are not limited to:

+ Monitor and operate mechanical and electrical building systems through EMCS to support energy conservation, safety, and comfort.

+ Identify and respond to temperature fluctuations, equipment alarms, and system issues remotely.

+ Troubleshoot building control systems and recommend corrective actions to supervisors.

+ Maintain system performance through preventive maintenance schedules and calibration.

+ Respond to after-hours service calls and emergency situations, dispatching appropriate personnel as needed.

+ Generate reports by collecting and analyzing data on operations, maintenance, and utility usage.


Qualifications:

+ 2–5 years of experience in facilities operations, HVAC systems, or building automation.

+ Hands-on experience with EMCS platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, or Tridium.

+ Familiarity with energy conservation practices, troubleshooting control systems, and interpreting system alarms.

+ Background in mechanical or electrical trades (e.g., HVAC technician, electrician, plant operator) is often considered valuable.

+ Strong computer literacy, especially with system monitoring software.

+ Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.


Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.

+ May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

+ Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.

Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

+ Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.


Requirements:

+ Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this postion.

+ A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.

+ Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
