**Manufacturing Automation Engineering Intern Position** **Summary**

**Under general supervision of the Automation Manufacturing team, the intern will complete a variety of assignments to provide general support to the Manufacturing Automation Engineering located at the Shakopee, MN Cherne Industries location.

Assignments will make a positive contribution to Oatey as well as provide the student with “hands-on” work experience.**

**Expectations & Accountabilities…**

**Fabrication of automated equipment for improving production processes across Oatey product lines.**

**Support Automation Engineers in wiring, machining, and assembling custom automation**

**Manufacturing process analysis and evaluation for automation.**

**Startup support for debug and production**

**Design and document work cells and fixtures to support process improvements**

**What you’ll need to be successful…**

**Education and Certification:** **Enrolled in an Engineering Degree or Engineering Technician program**

**Microsoft Office Suite - proficient user, emphasis on Excel**

**Solidworks experience (or any CAD)**

**Interest in manufacturing process design, material flow, production equipment, work methods, and processes**

**Ability to work within a cross-functional, multi-cultural team**

**Good verbal and written communication skills**

**Ability to manage multiple tasks and organize work efficiently**

**Process-oriented thinker**

**Qualifications that will set you apart…**

**Electronical wiring experience a plus**

**PLC programming experience a plus**

**Mechanical aptitude/some hands-on experience is a plus**
