We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager in the United States.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers while actively contributing to the codebase and shaping technical strategy.
You will drive the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software systems, while mentoring team members and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
This role combines hands-on development with leadership, enabling you to influence both the team’s growth and the broader product roadmap.
You will work in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment, managing complex projects, leveraging AI-assisted development tools, and optimizing engineering processes to maximize impact and efficiency.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and mentoring a team of 3-5 engineers, conducting regular 1:1s, providing feedback, and guiding career development.
- Fostering a psychologically safe, inclusive, and collaborative team culture.
- Leading the engineering team within a cross-functional squad, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Designers to deliver impactful features.
- Balancing technical and managerial responsibilities, contributing code up to 50% of the time, and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
- Driving technical strategy, making architecture decisions, and implementing AI-assisted tooling and automation to enhance workflows.
- Monitoring engineering metrics, improving code quality, team velocity, and system performance.
- Promoting innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning while mentoring engineers at all levels.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with 2+ years in a leadership or management role.
- Advanced expertise in React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, API design, and data modeling (relational & NoSQL).
- Experience building and maintaining cloud-native applications with strong understanding of secure coding practices and compliance standards (GDPR, SOC2).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and modern testing frameworks.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar.
- Strong mentorship, coaching, and leadership skills to guide engineers and foster professional growth.
- Ability to balance technical contributions with managerial responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (CloudFormation, Pulumi, Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with collaborative development techniques like pair programming.
- Contributions to open-source projects or developer communities.
