As an
Engineering Program Manager, you'll play a key role in managing new product development, coordinating across internal departments and directly interfacing with customers.
From kickoff through launch, you'll oversee timing, engineering changes, tooling progress, and product readiness while maintaining strong communication and technical oversight.
Job Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of programs following purchase order approval, transitioning projects from the sales/quoting phase into active execution.
- Analyzes blueprints, specifications and other documents to prepare time, equipment, labor and material quotes for new or changed business
- Monitors the timelines of new programs and reports any deviations from the schedule
- Maintains strong working relationships with customers, sales, and internal departments to ensure production remains on schedule
- Attend and lead customer conference calls and meetings.
- Tracks and documents internal continuous improvement efforts
- Prepares FMEA and DVP&R documentation in accordance with customer standards
- Evaluates part designs to ensure compliance with customer, governmental, and regulatory performance standards
- Coordinates with various departments to address and resolve engineering and design changes for existing programs
- Oversees the testing of new materials or processes to ensure they meet design specifications
- Manage programs through a phased lifecycle, starting with desk-based planning and coordination, and transitioning to hands-on, floor-based execution
Qualifications
- Formal education and/or hands-on experience in engineering principles
- Proven experience in program management
- Automotive or manufacturing program management experience (preferred)
- Comfort with CAD/SolidWorks 3D Platforms a plus.
- Self-starter with a high sense of ownership and accountability.
- Comfort working in teams, strong interpersonal & communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with upper management/customers/team members.
