AMETEK PDS in Bothell, WA seeks an Engineering Test Technician to be responsible for validating next generation of products, supporting the RF engineers, and making improvements to the product quality.
Candidate must possess fundamental knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) electronics and be able to utilize lab test equipment to validate designs and debug issues.
As part of the role, the candidate will work with a team of experienced engineers to plan, implement, and support engineering design principles, theories, and industry practices.
This position will aid engineers in providing support for the manufacturing functions and in the development and support of RF designs and related test equipment.
Key Responsibilites:
Assist engineering team with day-to-day tasks related to the testing, review, design, development, and documentation of RF amplifiersParticipate and lead design reviewsTake ownership of specific tasks to support senior engineersDrive change orders for implementation and documentation through the Product Lifecycle Management platform Education/Experience:
GED or High School Diploma RequiredTechnical certification or degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) preferred Required Experience:
2+ years, in conducting functional and performance testing of products and systems as well as PCB board reworkA foundational understanding of engineering principles, electronics, and related technologiesProficiency in performing tests to evaluate product reliability, durability, and functionalityThe ability to read schematics, PCB layout, work instructions, and other technical documents.Knowledge of how to maintain and operate test equipment such as an oscilloscope, network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, and RF power meterStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve issues that arise during testingExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively document test results, report findings, and collaborate with team members Preferred Experience:
Certification in engineering or testing-related fieldA solid understanding of RF and microwave theory, principles, and circuits is essential for testing and troubleshooting5+ years working with RF products including PCB rework and performance analysisExperience supporting manufacturing teams to triage and diagnose failed production unitsMeticulous observational skills to accurately record data and identify even small anomalies
