**Job Description:**

The Full Stack Architect designs, describes, and manages solution engineering in relation to capabilities of assigned Journeys and Platforms through the end-to-end lifecycle (i.e., frontend, backend, database and debugging of applications or sites).

This role also uses knowledge of business acumen and technical expertise to play a lead role in shaping the technical vision to create complex distributed solutions, technical designs, and integrations.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Collaborate with Enterprise API Architects in contributing to/understanding overall API architecture and Lifecycle management vision, strategy and standards.
+ Collaborate with various stake holders such as product owners, developers, consumers to understand their requirements ,expectations and communicate API value proposition and best practices.
+ Assist technology delivery teams as appropriate with the end to end API lifecycle from planning to design to testing , deployment , post production stabilization etc.
+ Perform code reviews as necessary to ensure the API code is high quality , maintainable code , meets standards and specifications defined by API Architect.
+ Create high level architecture and other detailed design artifacts to represent the solution architecture recommendations to address multiple stakeholder needs.
+ Review architecture design with appropriate stakeholders and architecture governance boards to seek approvals.
+ Collaborate and partner with Enterprise Architects and other domain architects in defining Solution Architecture.
+ Facilitate cross functional team meetings to achieve desired outcomes on business requirements , low level design , performance testing etc.
+ Identify constraints and dependencies – highlight any long term risks that may originate because of design of architectural choice made in overall system design .
+ Communicating with internal stakeholders regarding different aspects of a business problem , related architecture/solution options ,progress reports etc.
+ Implementation and Delivery -Oversee the delivery of solutions to ensure the Architecture is delivered , work with quality engineering and performance engineering to ensure all corners cases have been tested , address any queries from the development team , address any blockers , ensure the Devops pipeline is aligned with company standards.

**Depth & Scope:**

+ Seasoned individual contributor role with expert knowledge of specific enterprise and/or functional domain(s) and a demonstrated track record working with a broad range of architecture frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures
+ Exceptional collaboration, communication and client-facing skills
+ Big-picture thinker, with ability to anticipate architectural gaps and identify emerging trends through both advanced business acumen and highly specialized technical knowledge of TD and its applications, programming languages, industry best practices, Bank standards, infrastructure and architectural design / solutions
+ Architect assigned to work autonomously on high profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization

**Education & Experience:**

+ Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)
+ 10+ years relevant experience developing a variety of platforms
+ Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Pair programming and / or Test-Driven Development is an asset (i.e., ability to author Unit, Integration and Functional Tests)
+ Demonstrated experience with leading technical tools integration in a complex environment

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience with application architecture , design and development of business technology applications , familiar with the concepts , philosophies and tools behind design of applications , information and Integration technologies.
+ Experience in the role of Solutions architect or Enterprise Architect ( applications focused ).
+ Previous and most recent experience in banking technology is desirable.
+ Experience in credit cards enabling technology is highly preferred.
+ Architecting solutions in a public cloud platform ( one of Azure , AWS etc ).
+ Hands on expertise in modern architectures like Event Streaming , Micro services etc
+ SME in Architecture discipline , IT Standards , IT Application delivery process and Information Security .
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex topics and issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
+ Collaboration and cross functional leadership.

**Customer Accountabilities:**

+ Applies a multi-disciplined expertise with database, application, client tiers, layering of software, build, test and deploy strategies in order to create the overall design of software (including applications, infrastructure, middleware) and guide how the sub-components are developed by different teams
+ Elevates focus on applications and data as differentiators for the customer experience, anchored in sound foundational elements of Infrastructure and Platforms
+ Advises on suitability of technology stacks to define principles / key constraints for solution components; rallies the team around these principles to determine security / scalability approach, and impact assessments for future design
+ Drives continual upgrading and grounds the team in assessing practical program concerns to innovate on both server-side and user-side features as technologies / platforms expand to reduce technology debt and build resilient solutions
+ Leads code reviews to create and test prototypes to assess viability of approaches.

Uses configuration management and integration / build automation tools to lead and deploy code, gather proof points for developers to build on, navigate around complexities based on a clear understanding of the vision across the technology stacks and provide critical suggestions for fixes and improvements on the integration
+ Monitors and reports on progress and collaborates broadly with other practitioners, including designers, engineers, and other applicable business stakeholders to ensure the necessary features for the products and applications are developed within assigned portfolio
+ Designs tests that will be implemented to keep the software functional; supports issue analysis and fix activities during test phases, as well as production issue resolution
+ Collaborates with Practices, actively driving capability creation; mentoring and training junior colleagues to be adaptive, staying on top of expanding technologies and engineering trends and creating highly visual and functional solutions

**Shareholder Accountabilities:**

+ Sets service-level objectives (SLO) and exercise key decision rights of the FSA role
+ Focuses on reliability, scalability, and the development of the architectural infrastructure; including highly complex and scalable systems​
+ Develops observability standards to ensure that production systems operate under known conditions and transparently provides these measurements to anticipate when errors or failures can arise.
+ Leads interaction with governance and control groups, (e.g. regulatory / operational risk, compliance and audit) to provide subject matter expertise and consult on risk issues related to architectural technology and tools
+ Leads or contributes to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for significant and complex situations
+ Monitors and reports on the status of the products / projects and applications within assigned product, ensuring projects are compliant with technology domain architecture, and designs / operates processes to provide ongoing review of in-progress activity against technology architecture and development standards
+ Foresees architectural issues / gaps and identifies emerging industry trends to recommend value-added architectural improvements that will alleviate technology debt and build resilient solutions
+ Maps processes and sub-processes that bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions
+ Keeps track of changes made to code through control systems
+ Collaborates within practices, platforms or journeys comprised of diverse and complementary skills; inspiring the team to embrace changes and continually advance collective knowledge of technical tools / trends
+ Protects the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary
+ Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
+ Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
