Your Opportunity
Stantec Government Services is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to both lead and participate in environmental compliance projects for government and commercial clients.
The successful candidate will be able to manage interdisciplinary personnel to conduct environmental compliance projects, support a variety of environmental compliance project pursuits, and will possess the technical background and communication skills necessary to develop and review project deliverables.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Carry out project management for environmental compliance projects, including developing project budgets, maintaining good client relations, managing project personnel including subcontractors, and respecting budgets and deadlines as agreed in our service offers.
- Participate in the overall development of environmental compliance services by identifying business opportunities and potential clients.
- Provide environmental compliance consulting services (e.g., development of SPCC Plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans, initial and renewal of permit applications, corrective action support) to both government and commercial clients.
- Work with an interdisciplinary environmental compliance team to provide audit services across the U.S.
- Serve as an environmental auditor to evaluate diverse facility types for compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Assist with the development of findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to mitigate environmental hazards across various environmental media, including but not limited to, air emissions, potable water, water pollution control, hazardous materials management, solid and hazardous waste management, and toxic substances control.
- Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control for project deliverables such as audit findings, monthly/quarterly progress reports, and environmental management plans.
- Collaborate internally with professionals from other business units to provide environmental compliance services.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory standards and programs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients, team members, and subcontractors
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, as well as a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Ability and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or related field
- At least 10 years of experience with performing environmental compliance audits and inspections, supporting compliance with applicable Federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and managing environmental compliance projects
- Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Project Management Professional (PMP), ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Training, or other environmental management certification highly desired This description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required of the employee and other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or may be changed at any time with or without notice.
