About DTMB:
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (https://youtu.be/H_IrVnVjcoA) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.



About this position:
Employees in this position must have a high level of expertise to perform entire building automation system analysis, programming, commissioning, and modification to ensure tenant comfort and energy efficiency in all facilities managed by the Department of Technology, Management & Budget.

Serves as the lead on commissioning projects and mentors other staff.

Creates and maintains partnerships with Facilities Supervisors and labor/trades staff for optimal customer service and efficiency while performing the above-mentioned duties in duties in a zone with multiple buildings with tenants.

Required Education and Experience


Education
Possession of an associate's degree in electrical, electromechanical, electronics engineering, or electronics technology.

Experience
Four years of experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment equivalent to an Equipment Technician, including two years equivalent to an Equipment Technician E10 or one year equivalent to an Equipment Technician 11.


Alternate Education and Experience


Four years of experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment may be substituted for the education requirement.

This is in addition to the experience requirements for the specific levels.
A certificate from a two year, post-secondary, technical program in electrical, electromechanical, or electronics technology may be substituted for the education requirement.
Possession of a bachelor's degree or higher with 16 semester (24 term) credits in job specific or related course work qualifies for the Equipment Technician 10 level.


Additional Requirements and Information


Some positions within this class series are assigned job duties that may require possession of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State as required by Public Act 346 of 1988 to operate a designated state vehicle.

Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used.

Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.



Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.



Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.



Bonus Programs:Eligible employees with five years of service also receive annual longevity bonuses that grow as seniority increases.

Some positions also may qualify for recruitment, retention, and performance bonuses or other special pay premiums.



Military Pay Differential:Employees in the guard or reserves may also qualify for supplemental pay benefits if miliary pay during qualifying duty is less than normal state pay.

Prior military service may also allow seniority credits to accelerate eligibility for longevity bonuses and additional personal leave accrual.
