The Air Dominance Division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate or Experienced Escape Systems Engineer to join the Crew Systems & Escape Engineering team located in Berkeley, MO .

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, development, integration, and system performance of Escape Systems including but not limited to energetic devices, ejection seats, and canopy fracturing systems

  • Mentoring junior engineers

  • Managing major suppliers

  • Interfacing with Escape System Lead Engineers, Chief Engineers, Program Managers, and Customers

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors degree OR an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Masters; PHD)

  • 2+ years experience in military aircraft design

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in aircraft escape/egress systems and/or energetic devices

  • Experience in aircraft and component level requirements

  • Experience in Critical Safety Systems

  • Experience in component qualification programs

  • Experience in ejection / escape system component and/or sled testing

  • Experience in supplier change management processes (Requirements Change Proposal / Configuration Change Proposal)

  • Experience in project estimating

  • Knowledge of appropriate customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification of Escape Systems (e.g., ASME, MILSPEC).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

 


Summary pay range:

Level 2 - $81,600 - $110,400

Level 3 - $97,750 - $132,250
