The Department of Kinesiology and Health Education is seeking a tenure track faculty member with expertise in areas including human muscle physiology, muscular function, and/or other physiological sub-disciplines related to improving human performance (e.g., neuromechanics, ergonomics, etc.).
Our department houses separate but allied programs in Movement and Cognitive Rehabilitation Science (MCRS) and Exercise Physiology.
The mission of these related programs is to advance core knowledge related to the physiological systems of the body and to understand how these systems and the human body as a whole relate to movement, health, and well-being.
Our goal is to translate this knowledge into the improvement of clinical and functional outcomes for people across sport and physical activity, and across different stages of life.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can contribute to research in areas such as muscle physiology and biomechanical and neuro-muscular research.
This search welcomes applications from candidates investigating the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, biomechanics of the body, and all other aspects of human physiology, movement, and physical activity.
We expect the successful candidate to have an established publication record and to demonstrate a strong record of (or potential for) securing external grants to support their research.
In addition, they should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching courses in exercise physiology, movement science, and other exercise science sub-disciplinary areas.
We seek an individual who is committed to contributing as a faculty member, researcher, and through service to our academic community.
