Export Specialist

Job description

Must have experience with processing Export Shipments and full customs compliance preferably to other countries in North America!!
Responsibilities

+ Organize and review the prompt shipment of products and materials, utilizing approved carriers and the most appropriate mode of transport to meet delivery expectations.

+ Coordinate the import and export of goods, including scheduling shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations.

+ Monitor changes in international trade laws and regulations and provide recommendations for compliance.

+ Gather and analyze logistics data to assess current state and opportunities for future improvements.

+ Address routine and unexpected disruptions in the supply chain to keep products moving.

+ Support the timely and accurate movement of materials, components, and finished goods within the warehouse to ensure continuous support of production operations.

+ Perform duties related to receiving and shipping machines, machine parts, spares, laminate, labels, inks, and other commodities as required.

+ Maintain and upkeep all respective order and shipment records.

+ Administer day-to-day department tasks related to planning, shipping, receiving, and compliance.

+ Prepare and review shipping documents, ensuring accurate classification of goods.

+ Resolve issues related to customs clearance in a timely and cost-effective manner.

+ Create and maintain databases and/or spreadsheets with logistics data for reporting and compliance.

+ Develop and implement logistics KPIs, providing recommendations for process improvements.

+ Develop, implement, and maintain a customs compliance program.

+ Manage freight bill payment process, coding, and auditing of shipments.

+ Oversee the carrier freight claim process to ensure timely submission and completion of all claims.

+ Prioritize and plan shipments to meet agreed-upon customer ship dates.

+ Process sales orders and shipping documentation via ERP systems and other associated software.

+ Communicate regarding shipment issues such as shortages, overages, or damaged goods for resolution.

+ Act as a backup for the Logistics Manager and support the Logistics Coordinator and/or Logistics Clerk workload as needed.

Essential Skills

+ 3+ years of experience and knowledge of international import/export practices, including tariff schedules and Harmonized System (HS) codes.

+ Experience in supply chain or logistics.

+ Vendor management experience with carriers, forwarders, and 3PLs.

+ Experience with transactional work in ERP systems.

+ Experience with continuous improvement and/or project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with query database functionality (Power BI, SQL).

+ Bilingual in Spanish.

Work Environment
The position is fully on-site with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

The dress code is business casual, with no jeans allowed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
