As an Extended Care Program Instructor, you'll play a vital role in our extended-day program (morning care or aftercare), engaging students in a range of exciting activities while ensuring their safety and well-being.
This position is perfect for individuals who love working with children and can bring creativity, energy, and positivity to the program!
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children during extended-day activities, ensuring a safe and fun environment.
- Plan and implement various engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and educational projects.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and staff, creating a sense of community.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding their child's day and any concerns.
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings to continually enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the extended care space.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; experience in early childhood education preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building rapport with children and families.
- Ability to create and implement engaging activities that captivate young learners.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a nurturing and positive environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of children and the program.
- First Aid and CPR certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
- A passionate and fun-loving spirit that encourages kids to learn and play!
