Description of Position
The Department of Health and Kinesiology at NortheasternState University is seeking a tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Health and Human
Performance/Athletic training.
Responsibilities
1.
Twelve hours teaching load of undergraduate and graduate
courses within the Department of Health and Kinesiology.
2.
Participate in college and department recruitment and
retention efforts.
3.
Participate in curriculum development and accreditation
processes
(CAATE).
4.
Advise students within the department.
5.
Maintain scheduled office hours.
6.
Engage in scholarly activities internally or externally.
7.
Collaborate effectively with department and college
members.
8.
Provide service to the department, the College, and the
University.
Qualifications
1.
A doctoral degree is required in Kinesiology/Athletic
Training or a
related field is required.
Applicants who are in the
process of completing
their terminal degree and/or who are ABD will be
considered.
(Terminal
degree required for tenure track position).
2.
BOC certification in good standing and eligible for
Oklahoma State
Licensure.
3.
Two years of clinical athletic training
practice/experience are preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
1.
Evidence of effective teaching and scholarly work in
exercise science/athletic training.
2.
Capacity to teach across program levels (bachelor’s and
master’s)
3.
Ability to teach via instructional delivery methods
including face-to-face, service-learning, and online.
4.
Previous college/university teaching experience in an
Athletic Training program.
5.
Experience with CAATE accreditation and clinical
education coordination.

Annual salary: $56, with excellent benefits
