Job description

This role involves leading mechanical design projects supporting manufacturing operations.

The position requires working closely with client owners in a fast-paced environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents for installing complex manufacturing tools and mechanical facilities infrastructure.

This is an onsite role that requires commuting to the client site in Boise, ID.

Relocation assistance may be provided, but travel expenses will not be reimbursed.
Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and oversight of piping, ducting, heating, cooling, exhaust, and process chemicals and gases for industrial facilities
  • Develop retrofit solutions for existing building systems to accommodate new tool installations
  • Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, selection, and specifications
  • Provide technical training and quality checks on designs
  • Serve as the mechanical representative on multi-discipline design teams, collaborating with electrical, structural, and process engineers
  • Support construction integration, assisting with field oversight and resolving site issues
  • May be responsible for professional engineer stamping of designs
  • Oversee a team of engineers and designers, focusing on hiring, training, and retention
  • Conduct interviews, performance evaluations, and salary negotiations
  • Manage career development, conflict resolution, and team performance
  • Approve weekly time sheets and manage resource allocation
  • Work directly with equipment owners, researchers, and equipment manufacturers to develop installation design packages
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Twelve or more years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience with facilities systems, including HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, and plumbing
  • Four or more years leading engineering design teams with personnel development responsibilities
  • Licensed professional engineer in Idaho or ability to obtain within three months with an active NCEES record
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience working with semiconductor manufacturing tools, including their manufacture, installation, or use in cleanrooms
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a forward-thinking mindset
  • Two years of field experience in industrial facility environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
  • Additional Details
  • Work is 100 percent onsite in Boise, ID with no remote or hybrid options
  • Candidate must be within commuting distance and willing to travel to the client site as needed
  • Background check and drug screen required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States with no visa sponsorship available
  • Minimal overtime with a billing rate of 1.4 times the standard rate
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
  • No travel required

    Assignment Term: 6-month temp-to-direct, expected to transition to direct hire within 3-6 months

    Pay Rate: $49/hr.
