Position Summary

Concordia University Wisconsin launched its Engineering programs at the Mequon WI campus with the first intake of students into B.S. Industrial Engineering and B.S. Chemical Engineering programs in Fall 2024.

It has added B.S. Mechanical Engineering program in Fall 2025.

At this time, the department of Engineering and Mathematics, housed in the School of Arts and Sciences, seeks a full-time faculty in Chemical Engineering to join in August 2026 and complement a dynamic and growing team of passionate educators across the disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentorship, deliver courses at both lower and upper levels of curriculum, and particularly, in the areas of thermodynamics, separation processes, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, mass transfer, reaction engineering, process safety and design, and controls.

This full-time faculty position reports to the Chair of Engineering who reports to the Dean in the School of Arts and Sciences.

The faculty position will primarily involve teaching, research and scholarship, student assessment and mentoring of students for academic success and career enhancement.

We seek a candidate who supports positive and engaging classroom, collaborative academic community, personal responsibility and servant leadership.

The successful candidate will be a member of a Christian congregation, and will be passionate about student learning and advancing the Chemical Engineering profession through research and scholarship.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of program curriculum with integrated laboratory components and hands-on learning
  • Assist the Chair of Engineering with ongoing tasks in meeting the needs of the program and maintaining the quality while curriculum matures and student body grows each year
  • Provide student instruction, evaluation, and academic and professional advisement
  • Develop syllabi and student evaluation mechanisms
  • Develop and report mid-term, end-of-course, and all other didactic examination data for analysis
  • Participate in the evaluation of all students, all courses, and the program outcomes
  • Promote the mission of Concordia University to faculty, staff, students, and the community
  • Promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
  • Work with CU faculty and staff on an ongoing basis to maintain program compliance with the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology for the Chemical Engineering and the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC-NCA) criteria for accreditation and reaccreditation
  • Fulfill the University's scholarship and service expectations, consistent with the faculty handbook
  • Fulfill all faculty responsibilities as listed in the CU faculty handbook

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support student recruitment efforts such as meeting prospective applicants on campus and visiting schools
  • Attend and participate in faculty development workshops and conferences
  • Perform service activities that advance the Chemical Engineering program including being an advisor to a student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers or a common chapter
  • Engage in Industry collaboration and promotion of student internship opportunities
  • Attend all required events, including but not limited to: Engineering department faculty meetings, plenary faculty meetings, interview days, opening ceremony, graduation (Dec, May, and July), Engineering faculty retreat, and plenary faculty retreat
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • An earned doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred and knowledge of ABET Accreditation is a plus.
  • An effort to obtain and maintain professional licensure and/or certifications with professional societies is essential to ensure ABET expectations of faculty in the program.
  • Active industry collaboration to provide avenues for students to engage in industry sponsored senior design projects and internships

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) faculty position.

Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications, education, and experience.
