John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) led by President Karol V.

**POSITION OVERVIEW**
The Department of Public Management at John Jay College of Criminal Justice invites applications for a tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor in the field of Public Administration to begin Fall 2026.
The successful candidate will be expected to lead the Criminal Justice Management (CJM) degree program in the role of CJM Program Coordinator.
All candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Management, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a closely related discipline, have a well-established research agenda focused on criminal justice management broadly, and a track record of excellent teaching and service.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in academic leadership at the program level and within disciplinary associations and demonstrated commitment to the College’s Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) mission and identity.
The base teaching load at John Jay College is three courses per semester.
The position of Program Coordinator carries with it two course releases over the academic year.
Responsibilities include coordination of the CJM Program, instruction at the graduate and undergraduate levels, an active program of scholarship, instruction on campus and online, and participation in service activities.
Successful candidates must demonstrate a record of outstanding research; ability and willingness to teach core and elective courses in the CJM Program, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in other programs within the department; effective public and policy engagement; and a keen interest in interacting with students, faculty, staff, and policy practitioners in an interdisciplinary professional environment.
The College's Department of Public Management houses four undergraduate majors: Public Administration, Criminal Justice Management, Emergency Management, and Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics.
The Public Management Department faculty also teach in the College's two NASPAA-accredited and nationally ranked MPA Programs in Public Policy and Administration and Inspection and Oversight and its MA in Emergency Management.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent.
Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
For Instructor:
Master's degree in area(s) of expertise, and/or active progress toward a Doctorate, or equivalent.
Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Ph.D. degree in Public Administration, Public Management, Public Affairs, Political Science, or a closely related discipline, a well-established research agenda focused on criminal justice management, and excellent scholarship, teaching experience sufficient for the rank of tenure.
**COMPENSATION**
$74,249 - $113,982 for Associate Professor or $91,878 - $136,546 for full Professor.
Salary commensurate with education and credentials.
