Field Quality Control Specialist (Temporary/Contract) (DSP) Job Opening In us – Now Hiring EDF


Job description

Scope of Position

EDF Renewables Distributed Solutions, Inc.

seeks temporary Quality Control Specialists in Vandalia, MO; Bowling Green, MO; and Ravenswood, WV .

These are full-time contract positions through the Company's partnering temporary employment agency.

The positions are anticipated to be up to one year in duration and are based daily at an active solar construction site.

Applicants must reside within a daily commutable distance of the project site.

The Quality Control Specialist will lead the field construction quality assurance effort that supports the engineering, procurement, and construction team in executing solar construction projects.

The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the subcontractor quality assurance activities and ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained.

The Quality Control Specialist will report to the Superintendent with a dotted line to the Quality Assurance Manager.

Working Conditions: Approximately 90% of time is spent in a field construction environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs and Procore), phones, and general office equipment.

Approximately 10% of time is spent in a field construction trailer/office.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and document all subcontractor civil quality assurance activities, including soil compaction, concrete testing and cylinder pouring.
  • Observe and document all subcontractor mechanical quality assurance activities including driven pile install (plumbness, , racking assembly, and module placement.
  • Observe and document all subcontractor electrical quality assurance activities, including conduit and cable install, conductor testing, etc.
  • Inspect all materials received at site for visible damage and document material receiving activities.
  • Organize all subcontractor field quality control documentation, including test records, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

    Typically requires:

  • HS Diploma.
  • Four-year technical or business college degree preferred.
  • Three to five years construction experience, preferably with QC experience.
  • Requires knowledge of:

  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Familiar with construction activity, field quality control, and safety guidelines .
  • Driven to solve problems and accomplish tasks assigned.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing work in renewable energy as a career.
  • Procore Experience (Preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for long periods in field environment.

    Ability to traverse construction project sites with varying terrain and weather conditions.
