Job Title: Financial Analyst I
Location: Newport Beach, CA (4 days onsite, 1 day remote– flexible on schedule)
Contract: 6+ Months (Contract to extend)
Job Description
We are seeking a Financial Analyst I to join our Investment Operations team.
In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of collateral management activities, ensuring smooth and accurate daily operations.
You'll work with various internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities include:
Executing daily collateral management activities, including processing variation margin (VM) and initial margin (IM) workflows.
Investigating and resolving collateral and valuation breaks by coordinating with custodians, counterparties, and internal teams like the Front Office, Treasury, and Accounting.
Validating daily margin calls, managing dispute resolutions, and ensuring collateral sufficiency across bilateral and cleared derivatives.
Maintaining and reconciling platforms like Acadia, Calypso, and ePAM to accurately reflect transaction volumes and balances.
Generating and maintaining collateral reports using tools such as Business Objects and Calypso.
Supporting the onboarding of new accounts and products, ensuring collateral readiness and system integration.
Responding to audit and regulatory requests related to collateral activities, delivering accurate and timely information.
Qualifications
Required:
3-5 years of experience in collateral or derivatives, preferably in an investment operations/middle office role at an asset management firm, hedge fund, or investment bank.
Thorough understanding of Investment Operations, including trading workflows, typical systems involved, and relevant regulations.
Solid working knowledge of derivative security types, including Bilateral OTC (., IRS, Cross Currency, Equity TRS, CDS, Options), cleared, and exchange-traded products.
Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory (STAT) requirements for securities investments.
Advanced research, problem-solving, and resolution skills, with familiarity with legal documents related to securities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision to resolve complex issues.
Advanced Excel skills.
Preferred:
A college degree in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline.
Working knowledge of systems such as Bloomberg, Calypso, ePAM, and TriResolve.
CFA/CAIA/MBA certification.
