Job Description
Our Client, a Communications company, is looking for a FinOps Dashboard Developer for their Remote location.
Responsibilities:
+ Ingest, clean, transform, and enrich cloud billing, usage, license, and carbon/sustainability data; integrate with other business data (e.g. finance, engineering) as needed.
+ Define, implement, and maintain dashboards and visual reports for multiple personas (e.g. engineering, finance, product, leadership) to understand cloud spend, utilization, waste, trends, forecasts, and anomalies.
+ Work with tagging/metadata strategy to ensure cost allocation is accurate; help ensure tagging compliance and correction logic.
+ Create forecasts & variance reporting for cloud spend; surface deviations (budgets vs actuals), highlight overspending, identify optimization opportunities (rightsizing, savings plans / reserved instances, idle resources).
+ Build alerting, anomaly detection, and trend monitoring into dashboard/reporting tools.
+ Enable self-service reporting where feasible—so teams can slice & dice cost/usage data relevant to them.
+ Collaborate closely with FinOps practitioners, engineering (cloud architects, platform teams), finance, procurement, product, and other stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and use cases.
+ Ensure data accuracy, consistency, reliability—manage upstream dependencies (cloud providers, usage APIs, billing exports, etc.).
+ Implement best practices for performance of dashboards, scalability, data latency, and maintain documentation of metrics definitions.
+ Stay current on cloud billing models, FinOps standards (e.g. FOCUS data spec), emerging practices in cost transparency and cloud sustainability.

Requirements:
+ Technical / Tooling Experience with business intelligence / visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Grafana, etc.) Knowledge of cloud-native dashboards/tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, GCP Billing, etc.), open source dashboards
+ Strong SQL skills; data modelling, ETL pipelines, ability to work with large datasets Experience with streaming or near-real-time data pipelines, data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.)
+ Familiarity with cloud providers’ billing / usage / tag APIs and data exports Hands-on with data engineering tools (Airflow, dbt, Spark, etc.)
+ FinOps / Domain Knowledge Understanding of cloud cost concepts: unit costs, on-demand vs reserved/savings plans, commitments, amortization, rightsizing, utilization, tagging, shared services cost allocation Certifications like FinOps Certified Practitioner, or cloud provider cost-optimization certifications
+ Awareness of FinOps Framework, Reporting & Analytics capabilities; ability to translate usage data into cost stories that drive actions Experience with embedding sustainability / carbon metrics alongside cost & usage data
+ Ability to present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders, tell stories with data Experience working in cross-functional teams (engineering, product, finance)
+ Strong problem-solving skills; ability to translate vague data / requests into well-defined dashboard requirements Ability to teach others / build dashboard standards / provide training documentation
+ Operational Excellence Experience ensuring data quality, handling missing/dirty data, metadata/versioning of metrics Monitoring, performance tuning of dashboards and alerting on data freshness / pipeline health
+ Dashboard adoption: percentage of core personas (engineering, finance, product, leadership) using dashboards regularly.
+ Cost transparency: % of cloud spend covered by accurate tagging / metadata enabling cost allocation.
+ Forecast accuracy: variance between forecasted vs actual cloud spend.
+ Anomaly detection responsiveness: number and severity of cost anomalies flagged and remediated.
+ Time to insight: how long it takes from data availability (e.g. billing export) to dashboards being updated.
+ Efficiency gains: reductions in engineering or finance effort for ad hoc cost/usage analyses thanks to dashboards / self-service.
+ Cost savings identified (and realized) via insights delivered through dashboards: rightsizing, reserve purchase, waste elimination, etc.
+ Required: 3-5 years in data / dashboard / business intelligence work, especially in cloud or technology cost analytics.
+ Solid experience with cloud cost or usage datasets.
+ Experience interfacing with stakeholders from engineering, finance, product and translating requirements.
+ Preferred: Experience in organizations already practicing or maturing FinOps; prior role as dashboard developer or cost/usage analyst; familiarity with multiple cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ Billing / usage APIs from AWS / Azure / GCP
+ Data warehouse / lake (e.g. BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, etc.)
+ ETL / ELT pipelines (e.g. dbt, Airflow, custom scripts)
+ Dashboard / visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, Grafana, Tableau, etc.)
+ Version control (git) for dashboard definitions and metrics logic
+ Possibly scripting / coding in Python, SQL, etc.
+ Minimum of 2-4 years work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
