We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor.

**Flight Test Instrumentation (across multiple levels)**

The Flight Test Instrumentation Engineering team at Bell is responsible for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Data Acquisition Systems required for safe execution of all development and certification test activities for civil and military programs.

Working alongside likeminded talent, you’ll be able to hone your technical abilities on engineering problems, gaining experience in leadership and communication while playing a significant role in propelling Bell forward as the leading edge in innovative future product development.

**What you’ll be doing as a Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer**


* Design, implement, and maintain Airborne Data Acquisition Systems (ADAS) used to condition, monitor, and record data for a given test activity and ensure quality and safe data acquisition and operations.


* Collaborate with internal disciplines, including Flight Test Engineers, Pilots, Flight Technology, Lab, Standards and Calibration Lab, Aircraft Coordinators, etc., to ensure readiness to execute test objectives and flight test activities.


* Coordinate aircraft setup configurations related to data processing, and maintain proper configuration documents, related to both software and hardware.


* Provide direction to Electricians, Mechanics, and Flight Test Technicians.


* Generate and update wiring schematics and electrical installation documents using 2D and 3D tools.


* Adhere to Bell’s best practices and procedures to ensure quality and safe data acquisition and operations.

**Qualifications**


**Skills You Bring To this Role**


* Experience with airborne data acquisition systems.

Curtiss-Wright, Safran, and Quasonix equipment experience is preferred.


* Experience with the following Instrumentation sensor applications: strain gages, accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, RTDs, pitot-static system, etc.,


* Familiarity with bus protocols such as 1553-B, ARINC-429, RS-232/422/485, ethernet


* Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and organizational skills, along with a team player mindset.


* Excellent written and oral communications skills


* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and be able to brief leaders and/or customers.


* Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.

**What you need to be successful**


* We are looking for inquisitive and driven engineers with a passion to innovate.


* Multiple levels of experience will be considered with at least 2 years Flight Test Instrumentation or transferrable industry related experience.


* Bachelor's degree with a Major in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.

Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.
