Job description

Overview:

The Food Service Worker I is responsible for safely performing contract duties as assigned by management.

Quality customer service is expected to be provided at all times.

Knowledge and willingness to learn all aspects of the job is a requirement of the position.


Role Requirements:

  • Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on specified contract.

  • Understand oral and/or written instructions.

  • Interact appropriately with customers, government personnel and staff members.

  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.

  • Job Functions:

  • Set up hot and cold food serving stations.

  • Serve customers proper sized portions at sufficient rates.
  • Remove or refill hot and cold food items.
  • Clean salad and beverage bar areas and clean spills immediately.

  • Cut, pan, or plate pastries and desserts.

  • Pre-wash, scrub, sort, separate, and put away dishes and utensils.
  • Clean/de-scale dishwashers.

  • Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop flooring.
  • Deck scrubbing tile and concrete floors.

  • Empty trash cans and deposit trash in appropriate receptacles.
  • Compensation:


    Compensation for this position will be $22.45 per hour.


     Physical Requirements:

  • May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions.

    Most work will take place indoors.

    May work with cleaning chemicals.

    Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements.

    Schedules are subject to change.

    May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours as well weekends and Holidays.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds.

    Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
