For the Generalist Who has been told to Pick a Lane

Job description

You've Been Here Before

Every job posting demands "5+ years in [specific domain]." Every role screams "specialist only." Every interview ends with "we need someone more focused."

But you know something they don't: The future belongs to those who connect tracks across domains. What If We Told You Different?

"The future does not belong to those who remember facts, it belongs to those who connect the tracks."

What if there was a company that rewards your curiosity?

What if your "scattered" interests were actually your superpower?

What if we compensated you exceptionally to build across domains?

At Lovingly, we don't want you to pick a lane.

We want you to architect bridges between all the lanes.

The Role: AI-First Multipotentialite

You'll work on exciting AI and automation projects across strategic, tactical, and operational altitudes — but here's the key difference: AI and automated systems handle the operational execution while you focus on the strategic design and tactical configuration.

This isn't administrative work or boring operational tasks.

You architect the systems, configure the AI agents, build the automation workflows, and solve the complex problems while intelligent systems perform the repetitive execution.

You might spend Monday designing AI customer experience systems that Claude will operate, Tuesday building marketing automation workflows that run themselves, and Wednesday creating operational processes that AI agents and automated systems execute autonomously.

You'll be expected to learn rapidly across domains, discovering new tools and techniques as business needs evolve.

Self-directed exploration and continuous skill development are core to success in this role.

Requirements

The thread: Every project must demonstrate cross-domain value and eliminate boring work through intelligent automation. What You'll Build:

  • Fully automated order routing between consumers, florists, retail

  • Quality assurance systems with automated anomaly detection and response

  • Cross-channel process improvements that scale automatically

PRODUCT & PLATFORM STRATEGY

AI opportunities that redefine industry standards

  • Recommendation engines matching gifts to emotional intent

  • Automated florist business growth tools and platform improvements

  • Innovations targeting patentable competitive advantages

FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE & CAPITAL OPTIMIZATION

AI systems driving financial clarity and leverage

  • Real-time dashboards for cash flow, margins, and spend efficiency

  • AI-assisted forecasting with automated seasonality and demand adjustments

  • Decision frameworks that guide resource allocation

Who You Are

Whether you're a polymath connecting insights across disciplines, a specialist hungry for AI-powered expansion, or a builder who thrives on rapid cross-domain execution—we need people whose intelligence compounds across contexts. You Might Be:

  • The Frustrated Specialist: You excel in your domain but feel constrained by narrow focus.

You want to apply your expertise to solve bigger, interconnected problems.

  • The Undervalued Generalist: You've been told to "pick a lane" but your value comes from connecting patterns across multiple domains.

  • The AI-Curious Builder: You're already using Claude, ChatGPT, automation tools, or similar technologies to enhance your work and want to explore their full potential in a business context.

  • The Self-Directed Learner: You thrive on discovering new tools, techniques, and domains independently.

You don't wait for training programs—you dive in, experiment, and build expertise through hands-on exploration.

  • The Strategic Thinker: You see systems where others see silos.

You naturally think about how different business functions interact and influence each other.

We welcome recent graduates, college drop-outs, and self-taught builders.

Degrees are optional — mindset, curiosity, and execution are what matter here. What We're NOT Looking For:

  • Someone who wants to "dabble" in different areas without depth

  • A manager looking to delegate rather than build hands-on

  • Someone seeking a narrowly defined 9–5 balance over being energized by challenges

  • A specialist unwilling to engage outside their comfort zone

  • Someone who needs extensive hand-holding or formal training programs to learn new skills

Your AI & Automation Fluency

You don't need to be an AI expert, but you should be AI-curious, automation-capable, and self-directed in your learning:

  • Comfortable using tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI platforms

  • Experience with automation tools (Zapier, Make, custom scripts, or workflow builders)

  • Understanding that AI and automation amplify human intelligence rather than replacing it

  • Experience using AI and automation tools to solve real problems, not just experimentation

  • Track record of independently learning new tools and technologies as needs arise

  • Excited about the potential to build AI-first automated solutions in business contexts

What Makes This Different - A Leadership Team That Gets It

We're multipotentialites who've built systems-thinking organizations.

We understand cognitive diversity and won't try to force you into a traditional role template.

AI & Automation-First, Not AI-Added

We build with AI and automation from the ground up, not retrofitting traditional processes.

You'll architect solutions that are natively AI-powered and intelligently automated.

Outcome-Based Work

We care about value creation, not time tracking.

Your success is measured by impact across business functions, not hours logged.

Continuous Evolution

Your role evolves with your interests and business needs.

Today's marketing project becomes tomorrow's AI platform becomes next month's automated strategic initiative.

We support your self-directed exploration of new domains and technologies as opportunities emerge.

This isn't exploration for its own sake — we're building toward Lovingly's mission of transforming gifting and strengthening human connection.

Your multipotentialite mindset helps us achieve that goal.

Self-Assessment Challenge

Before applying, we invite you to complete a self-assessment using your own ChatGPT or Claude account.

This guided reflection helps you explore your multipotentialite profile and readiness for cross-domain AI-powered work.

The exercise typically takes 10-15 minutes and provides valuable self-awareness regardless of whether you apply.
