Team Member Position

The Picklr Centereach Team Member Overview:

Primary Responsibilities:


  • “Protect the Brand” – As a Team Member, we represent a best-in-class brand.

  • “Fulfill the Promise” – As a Team Member, we make a promise to our members and customers.

    We will make good on that promise. 
  • Membership Acquisition and Membership Sales - Acquiring new members and selling memberships to new people in the club and upselling membership amenities to existing members is paramount.
  • Membership Retention -Play an important contributing role to the member experience and ensure we optimize member retention and renewal. 
  • Member Check-in - Greet and check in members with a positive attitude.
  • Phone calls and inquiries - Professionally answer and return phone messages in a timely manner, problem solve and sell.
  • Pro Shop Sales – Engage with our members.

    Talk up our pro shop.

    Encourage them to demo our paddles and stay current with the top-of-the-line pickleball equipment. 
  • Additional Tasks - Perform miscellaneous tasks that are asked by management.
  • Be a Pro – your actions and your words reflect on the club, our team and you.
  • Take Pride - in our club and in your work.

Front Desk Team Member Roles and Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities:

Role #1 - Customer service 


  • Problem solve for the club and our members
  • Be Proactive about identify issues and helping to bring to resolution
  • Help make the member playing and club experience exceptional in all your dealings
  • Operate near the front desk to assist when people enter the club and greet every member as they enter and depart the club
  • Professionally answer phone calls and in person inquiries about our club 
  • Accommodate daily questions members/guest may have and problem solve

Role #2 - Membership Sales and Retention


  • Promote the club and membership selling opportunities
  • Know the membership well enough to sell over the phone, in the club, or in public.

    Get to know the members by name and something about them
  • Promote pro shop and Grab and Go sales to members

Role #3 - Play by Point (Court Reservation Software) and Application Operation


  • Check in members and guests, collecting/adding payment prior to use of the club.
  • Assist guests with memberships, and members with event registration and reservations 
  • Provide member and your own feedback to The Picklr management team around programming and how to better optimize it 
  • Learn and be familiar with other software applications – Picklr/PBP, Wingfield, DUPR, Swish, Ernie

Role #4 - Running Programs


  • Facilitate and help successfully run the programs that occur during your shift
  • Open play
  • Make sure previous groups have cleared the courts
  • Check people in and process payments
  • Answer questions about open play rotation
  • Clean up after the event
  • Competitive Events:
  • Check people in and process payments 
  • Make sure players understand the rules and rotations whether it is for Round Robins, King/Queen of the court, Moneyball, etc
  • Clean up after the event
  • Court Reservations:
  • Check people in and process payments 
  • Direct the players to the court that they reserved
  • Make sure the court is ready for the reservation 
  • Leagues
  • All court assignments will be prepared for you by the club coordinator - please stick to the sheets
  • Put two balls and clipboard with court assignments in each of the used court baskets
  • Answer any questions regarding upcoming leagues or the league format
  • Collect clipboards and balls from all the used courts after the event

Role #5 – Club Appearance and Cleaning


  • Conduct a cleaning at the beginning of and at the end of each shift (in between the professional cleaning crew).

    Throughout the day, sweep the high traffic areas of the club and wipe down seating areas and tables.

    Below are the high traffic areas that need to be presentable at all times.
  • Bathrooms – wipe down, refill toilet paper, hand towels, and soap as needed
  • Shower 
  • Changing Rooms 
  • Member Lounge
  • Member Lounge coffee station
  • Community Room
  • Empty garbage cans
  • Pick up garbage off the floor

Employment Status/Compensation:


  • Employment Status: W-2 employee
  • Compensation: $XX/hour, paid bi-weekly.

    Pay rate will be competitive based on experience and current landscape.
  • Taxes: All federal, state, and FICA taxes will be withheld
  • Eligible Benefits: Accrued Paid Sick Leave (1 hour for every 30 Hours worked)
  • Uniform/Training: Provided and required
