ITCON Services is seeking a highly skilled
Drupal Front-End Developer to support federal government projects requiring secure, accessible, and user-friendly digital solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Drupal theming and front-end development, while ensuring compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and federal security guidelines.
This role requires collaboration with UX designers, back-end developers, and government stakeholders to deliver responsive, compliant, and visually engaging websites that meet federal mandates.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
The Front-End Drupal Developer key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain Drupal front-end themes using Twig, CSS, Sass/Compass, Bootstrap, and PHP.
- Translate UI/UX designs from Adobe XD and Figma into responsive, 508-compliant Drupal interfaces.
- Implement JavaScript libraries and frameworks to enhance interactivity and performance.
- Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 and Section 508 accessibility standards by using testing tools such as Siteimprove and supporting documentation with VPATs.
- Work with security teams to ensure adherence to federal security and compliance standards (FedRAMP, FISMA, and related).
- Leverage Git, GitHub, and Bitbucket for version control and manage workflows using npm and Drush.
- Collaborate in Agile environments using Jira for task management, bug tracking, and sprint planning.
- Optimize website performance and troubleshoot cross-browser, device, and accessibility issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Graphic Design, Web Design or a related field is highly desirable; ample equivalent work experience will be strongly considered.

4+ years of experience as a Front-End or Drupal Developer on enterprise or government projects.

Strong proficiency in CSS, HTML5, Twig, Sass/Compass, and Bootstrap.

Experience with PHP integration for Drupal theming and template development.

Proficiency with JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery) and npm workflows.

Experience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).

Hands-on experience with Drush for automation and site administration.

Ability to implement Section 508 compliance and accessibility testing tools (Siteimprove, Axe, WAVE).

Familiarity with VPAT documentation and accessibility reporting requirements.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Experience with decoupled or headless Drupal implementations.
- Drupal front-end certification or relevant web accessibility/security certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular).
- Knowledge of federal digital accessibility policies and usability standards.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and compliance with FedRAMP/FISMA security standards.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum environments on federal contracts.
