    Shifts Available and Hours:


    Continental day shift.

    Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages dross to minimize the production of dust.

  • Performs cleaning of media for the regenerative heating system so as to minimize the production of waste material and prevent the facility from moving into the status of Large Quantity Generator of Hazardous Waste.

  • Responsible for his/her own health, security and safety and shall cooperate and contribute to the creation of a safe, secure and healthy working environment and to the achievement of the Company’s environmental obligations and goals.

  • Responsible to work safely, respect company tools and equipment, and to protect self and other from injury.

  • Operates the melting furnaces - (start, shutdown, set temperature, and so forth).

  • Transfers metal from furnace to holder.

  • Loads melting furnaces with metal, skim, alloy and flux.

  • Use Spectro lab to calculate the amount of alloy elements and/or prime to use for a given alloy.

  • Maintains furnace temperature within limits.

  • Maintains the melting furnace thermocouples.

  • Maintains hold furnace thermocouples.

  • Reports damaged or unsafe equipment.

    Maintain forklift safety checklist.

  • Maintains safety equipment.

  • Inspects all incoming purchased scrap.

  • Segregates scrap alloys and alloying elements.

  • Load and unload scrap, dross, prime, and billet trucks.

  • Operates forklift, loader, and dross press.

    Maintains scrap, prime, hardener inspection and furnace cycle time records.

  • Maintains furnace and dross press P.M. records.

  • Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be able to understand and deliver basic commands in English.

  • Training: Must read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to their specific position.


  • Must be able to use and maintain all basic tools and measuring equipment pertinent to their specific position.
