Job description

Specific Duties

Be on time and stay for the full duration of your shift.

If you cannot make a shift, you must let the Photo Manager and/or Department Chair know at least 2 hours before.

Opening Shift:


Turn on the track lights, unlock the MH 19, 7 and 2 (turn off the alarm or call campus security if you do not have an alarm code)._ Check and ensure all lab and classroom spaces are clean and in order.Analog Labs:_ Check all enlarger stations to make sure they are clean and turned off._ Check the Alternative Process and Film Development Labs to make surethey are clean and in working order.

If necessary, wipe down the sinks and clean out the film loading room._ Check the analog darkroom chemicals and make note of low levels.Digital Labs:_ Check the Digital Labs to make sure they are clean and in working order.

Push in the chairs and straighten up the computer stations._ Make sure all the scanners are turned off._ Turn on the computers and printers and make sure they are working properly.

Check the ink levels of all the printers and make a note of all low level inks.


Midday Shift:
_ Check out materials and assist students when necessary._ Check that students clean up after themselves._ Wipe down common areas, push in chairs and check that things are kept in order.

Clean the desks, keyboards, mice and monitors._ Mix chemistry such as Developer, Stop and Fixer as needed.
_ Assist students with the darkroom when needed._ Regularly check to see if equipment needs to be checked back in.

If it is pass due contact the student.Closing Shift:General Responsibilities:_ Check out materials and assist students when necessary._ Check that students clean up after themselves._ Wipe down common areas, push in chairs and check that things are kept in order.

Clean the desks, keyboards, mice and monitors according to the cleaning schedule.

Darkrooms:
_ Dump or recycle all exhausted chemistry and rinse out all the chemical trays and leave them propped up to dry overnight._ Drain and clean up the print washing area._ Check all enlarger stations to make sure they are clean and turned off._ Check all sinks to make sure they are turned off.

If necessary, wipe down the sinks and clean out the enlarging stations._ Turn off the Safe Lights in the darkrooms._ Check the analog darkroom chemicals and make note of low levels._ Mix chemistry such as Developer, Stop and Fixer as needed.Assist students with the darkroom when needed.

Closing:
_ Check and sure all lab and classroom spaces are clean and in order._ Turn off all the computers and printers._ Lock all labs and doors once you finish your shift and set the alarm in MH 2 (or call campus security if you do not have an alarm code).

Minimum Qualifications Willingness to learn and be committed.

Must be able to work at least 2-hour shifts.

Be respectful, polite and offer assistance.Must be a ULV student.

Preferred Qualifications An ability to be outgoing, have good communication skills and be able to be able to deal with stressful situations if they arise.
Organized and willing to assist faculty and students.

Benefits Summary Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan – can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.

Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
