**Project Description:**
Gas Emergency Response is a department that oversees all gas emergency orders to reduce emergency response time while not compromising safety.
This position will be responsible for the review, analysis and approval of a select group of gas emergency orders.
This role will ensure that a select group of orders will follow the business rules established for proper completion and documentation.
In addition, this role will assist the department in analyzing statistics monitoring process adherence and daily reporting processes.
Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
+ _Conduct outlier investigations, which are essential for identifying anomalies in our data and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our performance metrics._
+ _Tasked with updating the Outlier Tracker, a critical tool that consolidates and monitors performance deviations across various business units._
+ _Managing and maintaining the Request SharePoint, which serves as the central repository for our corporate KPI data._
This position is for a June 1st, 2026 start.
These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel’s business needs.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Current student, _Junior status (as of Fall 2026)_ .
+ Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business Administration or related.
+ Able to commute to the service center in Denver _, CO- In-Person_
+ Able to work _full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the fall (up to 20 hours a week)._
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ _3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher_
+ _Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in Intermediate Accounting, Auditing, and/or Tax._
+ _Experience or Proficiency with data analytics tools._

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.40 per hour
