**The Opportunity**

Our Digital Advisory, Software Development, Data, and Geospatial team is looking for a **Geospatial Developer Intern** or **Geospatial Analyst Intern** who will join our team in **New York City** and support a variety of projects across Arup’s portfolio of work.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, an excellent problem solver, and able to adapt to new technologies and platforms.

+ Create and maintain GIS databases to store project data
+ Advise on data management and interoperability approaches and best practices, and deploy and maintain solutions on projects
+ Develop analytical solutions to support Planning and Infrastructure projects
+ Work with internal technical and domain experts to design and implement geospatial solutions
+ Work with project teams to understand requirements and design solutions to support project delivery
+ Recommend integrated data dissemination and visualization solutions
+ Advise on data collection approaches and best practices
+ Provide geospatial support on projects across the Americas
+ Advise on geospatial best practices
+ Presentation and documentation of solutions to non-technical audiences

**Is this role right for you?**

**Required:**

+ Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in in GIS or a related field (Geography, Computer Science, Engineering, Urban Planning)
+ Expertise in desktop GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro or QGIS
+ Experience with web-based GIS (ArcGIS Online, HTML, CSS, Leaflet, PostGIS)
+ Interest in data management and interoperability best practices
+ Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
+ Must be eager to learn, highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges
+ Candidate must be eligible to work in the US without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future to be considered for this role

**Preferred:**

+ Experience of working with enterprise GIS solutions (ArcGIS Enterprise or open-source solutions)
+ Experience with Python or C#.NET
+ Cartographic or 3D visualization experience
+ Experience and interest in applying spatial solutions to complex engineering problems
+ Experience of working independently and with teams
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

**New York City Hiring Range -** The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in New York City, NY is $26.50 to $38.00 per hour.

Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York City, NY will differ.
