Job description

Join GDIT as a Geospatial Operations Lead supporting the U.S. Army Geospatial Center (AGC) and the Next Generation Workstation (NextGen GWS) baseline.

In this role, you will focus on day-to-day project execution, technical coordination, and operational support to ensure the delivery of enterprise IT and geospatial services.

You will work closely with technical teams and program leadership to manage evolving requirements, coordinate schedules, and keep mission-critical operations on track.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Manage and coordinate the daily execution of geospatial operations and IT services, ensuring alignment with AGC priorities.
  • Work with project leaders and technical staff to track requirements, update schedules, and maintain project baselines.
  • Monitor timelines, deliverables, and performance metrics to ensure tasks are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams to resolve technical and operational issues quickly and keep workflows moving.
  • Support the implementation of baseline updates, system testing, and integration activities.
  • Assist with preparing status reports, progress updates, and operational documentation for stakeholders and leadership.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend practical workflow improvements to increase team productivity and mission outcomes.
  • Provide hands-on support for complex assignments requiring initiative, organization, and problem-solving.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Experience leading daily project execution and task management in IT, geospatial, or defense programs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parallel tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with technical workflows, system baselines, and operational testing processes.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse technical teams.
  • Proven ability to deliver against deadlines and maintain accountability for task completion.
  • Desired Technical Expertise

    Exposure or working knowledge of:

  • Agile project management methodologies.
  • Cloud infrastructure and modernization (AWS, Azure, hybrid).
  • DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and automation tools.
  • AI/ML applications in geospatial or mission support.
  • Edge computing and distributed systems.
  • Software development lifecycle (SDLC) and test processes.
  • Geospatial platforms, tools, and workflow integration.
  • Army Geospatial Engineering (12Y) and Imagery Analyst (35G) operations.
  • Clearance Required: Active TS - SCI eligible 

    Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship Required.

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Geospatial Science) or equivalent experience.

    Experience: 5+ years of program/project management or operations leadership in IT, defense, or geospatial domains.

    Preferred Certifications: PMP, Agile (Scrum Master, SAFe), or equivalent.
