Overview & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

The Global Assurance Manager is responsible for leading the global assurance and compliance function, ensuring that Ebara Elliott Energy (EEE) financial reporting meets the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and compliance with IFRS and Ebara Group policies.

This role oversees technical accounting, financial statement quality, audit readiness, and the resolution of control deficiencies across the global finance organization.

The position holds end-to-end ownership of the global internal control framework, including the development, maintenance, and enforcement of process narratives, accounting manuals, policies, and procedural documentation to ensure consistent application across all entities.

Operating at the intersection of risk management, internal audit, governance, and compliance, the role directly manages the Senior Technical Accounting Manager, Audit Liaison Manager, and Finance Manager – Quality, ensuring cross-functional alignment with US & Regional controllers, Internal Audit, External Auditors, and Corporate Stakeholders.

BACKGROUND and EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance.
· CPA, ACA, or equivalent.
· 10+ years of finance/accounting experience, with a focus on technical accounting, audit, and assurance in global organizations.
· Preferred: Prior experience in a Big Four audit firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG), with exposure to large-scale, cross-border audit or assurance engagements.
· Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and external audit processes.
· Demonstrated experience in managing audit cycles and resolving control deficiencies.
· Proven leadership experience managing diverse finance teams across geographies.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed environment under tight deadlines.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS

 The Global Assurance Manager will have a wide range of contact with others, primarily in a collaborative and leadership capacity.

The communication will be both internal and external, across various levels of the organization to include: direct reports, external auditors, global and regional finance teams, internal auditors and corporate stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.

SUPERVISION

 This is a supervisory role with responsibilities for management of the Senior Technical Accounting Manager, Audit Liaison Manager, and Finance Manager – Quality with direct responsibility for recommendations for hiring, discipline, discharge, performance appraisal and salary increase planning.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

Assurance & Compliance
· Ensure global compliance with IFRS and Ebara Group accounting policies across all entities.
· Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, new standards, and emerging issues.
· Lead global initiatives to strengthen financial reporting quality, particularly around balance sheet reconciliations, controls, and supporting documentation.
· Own and maintain the global internal control framework, including the creation, review, and periodic update of process narratives, risk control matrices, and control documentation.
Audit Readiness & Liaison
· Serve as primary liaison with external auditors (Deloitte) and internal auditors for global assurance matters.
· Ensure timely preparation and submission of audit deliverables and schedules.
· Oversee tracking, remediation, and reporting of audit deficiencies to management and audit committees.
· Proactively identify areas of risk and ensure corrective actions are implemented across global finance teams.
Leadership & Team Oversight
Directly manage and provide strategic guidance to:
· Senior Technical Accounting Manager – providing technical guidance and memos on IFRS/complex accounting issues.
· Audit Liaison Manager – coordinating and facilitating audit requests, ensuring audit readiness, and acting as central contact for auditors.
· Finance Manager – Quality – driving balance sheet reconciliation processes, reviews, and ensuring consistent global standards in financial reporting quality.
Process & Continuous Improvement
· Develop and monitor key metrics (KPI dashboards) to measure the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of global financial reporting.
· Drive continuous improvement in internal controls, reconciliation processes, and audit management.
· Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for regional and corporate finance teams on technical accounting and assurance matters.
· Collaborate with IT/ERP project teams to integrate assurance and quality checks into new systems (Oracle, SAP, Concur, FCCS).
