The Senior Compiler Engineer position at Intel is a pivotal role within the Intel Graphics Compiler Project.

This role is responsible for the entire lifecycle of software tools for domain-specific programming languages, from definition and design to development, testing, debugging, release, enhancement, and maintenance.

The position involves close collaboration with hardware design teams and participation in industry-leading compiler development communities and standards groups.

The focus is on leveraging advanced technologies such as DX shader, OpenGL, OpenCL, and SYCL to enhance Intel's graphics processing capabilities.

**Key Responsibilities**

+ **Intermediate Representation Interface:** Design and integrate the IR interface between front-end components and the Intel graphics compiler.
+ **Optimizer:** Design and develop optimization algorithms to improve compiler performance and efficiency.
+ **Generated Code Analysis:** Analyze compiler-generated code to identify inefficiencies and propose optimizations or hardware enhancements to address performance issues.

**Qualifications:**

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ MS.

degree in computer science, electrical computer engineering, or STEM
+ 2+ years with a MS C/C++ programming experience and compiler development

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Ph.D. degree in computer science, electrical computer engineering, or STEM
+ 1+ years of:
+ Familiarity with compiler optimizations, front-end translation and back-end code generation
+ Familiarity with computer and graphics architecture
+ Familiarity with GPGPU programming model
+ Knowing LLVM infrastructure is a big plus

The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services.

The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments.

The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
