Description
NREL’s Water Power Technology Validation team has an immediate opening for a full-time (40 hours per week) graduate engineering intern with experience in python and process systems modeling and optimization of flexibly operated water treatment systems.
This is a 9–12-month position.
NREL's integrated water systems research focuses on the nexus of the energy, water, land, atmospheric, and urban sectors.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.* Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
Additional Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge or experience with PySAM, Pyomo, IDAES, and WaterTAP Python packages
Experience modeling solar energy systems and grid interactions with PySAM
Academic specialty in water and wastewater treatment systems preferred
Knowledge or experience with flexible water treatment strategies

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Job Profile: / Annual Salary Range: $43,700 - $69,900NREL takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.
In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
