SALARY AND BENEFITS


Salary: $64,372-$89,854 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance with five different plans, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, liability and travel/accident insurance, voluntary insurance options, and a supplemental life program.

Employees are entitled to sick leave, personal leave, vacation allowance, bereavement days, paid time during district scheduled breaks, holidays, and longevity pay.

Flexible spending accounts (FSA) or healthcare savings accounts (HSA) are available based on the elected medical plan.

Additionally, retirement savings plans are provided through the State of Michigan Office of Retirement Services (ORS).

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES


This position provides educational leadership and supervision to area GSRP providers, including classrooms operated by Genesee Intermediate School District, local education agencies, public school academies, and community-based organizations.

The GSRP Manager is responsible for participating in the Genesee Intermediate School District Early Childhood Leadership Team and representing the Early Childhood Department within the organization and the community.

This role includes mentoring new directors, assisting with subrecipient monitoring and growth plans, and ensuring program compliance and quality.


Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to): 

  • Provides overall leadership, along with implementation of GSRP according to the GSRP Implementation Manual and Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations.

  • Collaborates with the GSRP and GISD Literacy Coaches to ensure effective literacy instruction and support in GSRP classrooms.

    Works collaboratively with Education and Learning as needed.

  • Mentors new directors in GSRP policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Assists with subrecipient monitoring, including site visits, data review, and development of growth plans to ensure program quality and compliance.

  • Facilitates and/or assists with the GSRP Leadership Team, including the Early Childhood Specialist and GSRP Social Emotional Specialist, to ensure coordinated support for teaching teams and classrooms.

  • Facilitates and/or assists with county-wide professional development related to organizational and program strategic priorities, including review of program, classroom, and student data.

  • Ensures that program evaluation reports are shared with the GSRP Coordinator, subrecipient administration, and GSRP Parent Advisory Committee(s).

  • Supports alignment of GSRP with K-12 and children’s transition into kindergarten.

  • Assures documentation of strong and positive family engagement with aligned strategies to promote and extend children’s learning at school and home and facilitates referrals to meet child and/or family needs.

  • Participates in initiatives and ensures that Genesee Intermediate School District Early Childhood is represented in strategic planning and implementation.

  • Leads and supports implementation of Whole Child/Early Childhood MTSS efforts in GSRP.

  • Participates in local early childhood administrative and advisory meetings as appropriate.

  • Facilitates and/or participates in team meetings related to student success, including supporting child behavior and increasing inclusive practices.

  • Develops and supports systems for data collection, analysis, and application to improve student outcomes.

    Ensures the maintenance and confidentiality of student records.

  • Assists in recruitment, intake, and referral processes for local preschool partners.

  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the GSRP Coordinator.
  • Other Duties:

  • Represents the district on various community agencies and professional organizations as appropriate.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: 

    A master’s degree (MA) in Early Childhood, Special Education, Administration, Educational Leadership, or a related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Master’s degree in early childhood education and/or Leadership preferred.

    Experience:

    A minimum of three to five years of experience teaching within a classroom setting.

    Previous experience in an administrative position is strongly preferred.

    Knowledge and/or experience of the GSRP and Child Care Licensing requirements, policies, and procedures is preferred.

    Experience with early childhood inclusion as well as early childhood positive behavioral intervention and supports is also preferred.

    Administrative certification in Michigan or a willingness to obtain certification in an agreed-upon timeline is preferred.


    Skills/Other: 


    Ability to explain and demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques.

    Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district.

    Ability to represent the district in a professional manner at all times.

    Demonstrates initiative and understanding in working with students, school district and subrecipient partners, staff, and parents/guardians.

    Ability to work creatively and skillfully with students.


    Demonstrated physical stamina necessary for assisting with lifting and moving students up to


    five years of age; repetitive stooping, squatting, bending, lifting, walking, kneeling and reaching while maintaining personal balance and stability, exercise good judgement and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established procedures with minimum supervision.

    Must have a valid Michigan driver’s license, current automobile insurance and have the ability to travel to and from schools, homes, and agencies in the assigned geographic area.


    Must be able to obtain a Department of Human Services (DHS) approval, pass a physical exam, and obtain a satisfactory criminal history check through fingerprinting.
