**Summary:**
As a key member of the hardware systems engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the convergence of complex and novel sub-system and product architectures aimed at pushing the state-of-the-art consumer mixed-reality systems.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive and interpret business and operational needs into technical requirements; determine critical interactions between subsystems; and work closely with engineering and field-based operations teams to articulate success criteria.

Furthermore, you will execute validation and verification activities for new product integration, including system-level and subsystem testing, to ensure that the hardware systems meet the specified requirements and function correctly in the intended environment.

You will work on complex engineering challenges by leveraging a broad understanding of Meta's infrastructure, identifying trends and systemic issues in the hardware fleet, and driving resolutions and risk mitigations.

This team supports technical communication with cross-functional teams across industrial design, product design, electrical engineering, displays and optics, partnerships, supply chain, and core technology groups to drive incubation of new technologies from proof of concept through integration into products for mass production.

You will also be responsible for mentoring other engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

You will be expected to contribute to the development of best practices and standards for systems engineering within the organization
**Required Skills:**
Hardware Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
1.

Drive hardware and technology teams through phases of engineering design, development, and validation to bring complex MR products to mass production
2.

Provide technical ownership and guidance to make crucial hardware product decisions, enabling the realization of cutting-edge MR devices for Meta's users
3.

Work on all aspects of system engineering from initial definition of requirements and specifications, identification of risk, opportunities, and tradeoffs through to the decision processes, implementation, and risk mitigation
4.

Develop processes and checklists to ensure comprehensive documentation, cross-functional alignment, and execution at all stages of product development, requirements flow, verification and validation, and interaction between various subsystems
5.

Empower cross functional collaboration, lead the team through an efficient and holistic approach to decision making and integration of innovative solutions
6.

Plan and drive verification and validation strategies to ensure that hardware systems meet the specified requirements and function correctly in the intended environment, in collaboration with cross functional teams
7.

Manage data-driven methods for developing system requirements and verification related deliverables, such as specifications, design criteria, system descriptions, and verification tracking
8.

Effective communication and documentation skills are essential, as you will need to collaborate with several teams, develop documentation, and debug complex systems
**Minimum Qualifications:**

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent industry experience

8+ years of experience in integrated hardware and software product development, with a proven track record of successfully delivering products to market
11.

Demonstrated experience in multiple full-life cycle product launches, including sustainment
12.

Experience managing urgent projects through to completion while balancing evolving priorities and a range of stakeholders
13.

Proven technical proficiency in one or more of the following hardware disciplines: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, display, optics, cameras, audio, wireless, and systems engineering
14.

Solid leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional technology teams through personal accountability and influence
15.

Analytical skills.

Capacity to drive and triage testing, debugging, and root cause analysis for Hardware blocks
16.

Proven track record conveying complex technical concepts and drive alignment on product requirements and architecture, both within and across organizational levels

$170,000/year to $240,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
