Job description

 A helicopter mechanic in the United States Army plays a vital role in maintaining the operational readiness of the Army's rotary-wing aircraft fleet.

Their duties include inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues on various types of helicopters, such as the UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache, and CH-47 Chinook.

They perform routine maintenance, including checking and replacing parts like engines, rotors, transmissions, and avionics systems, ensuring all components meet strict safety and performance standards.

These mechanics also conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections to identify any potential problems that could affect the aircraft's performance.
