Job Description
The Honors Program at Colorado State University seeks applications from qualified individuals interested in facilitating part-time Structured Mentoring Opportunities for Honors students.
These one-credit, variable-content courses provide students with the chance to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that align with the Honors Programs mission to cultivate applied, interdisciplinary, and professionally oriented scholarship.
Structured Mentoring Opportunities are designed to connect students with real-world contexts in which they can develop practical skills and insight under the guidance of an experienced mentor.
Instructors serve as facilitators, creating a learning environment that reflects their disciplinary expertise while responding to current academic and/or community needs.
These opportunities are intentionally experiential and may vary in focusranging from research support to civic engagement to professional skill-buildingdepending on the strengths and proposals of the instructor.
Applicants are asked to submit a brief proposal outlining the area of expertise they wish to offer and the type of experiential learning opportunity they envision providing.
These offerings should reflect Honors Program values of professionalism, interdisciplinarity, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and communication, while supporting students development as engaged scholars and citizens.
Appointments are made on a part-time, semester-by-semester basis, depending on program needs and student interest.
Structured Mentoring experiences typically enroll small cohorts, providing the opportunity for deep mentorship and personalized guidance.

Conditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Required Job Qualifications
Previous teaching and/or facilitation skills.
Demonstrated expertise in field proposed.
Strong communication skills. Preferred Job Qualifications Experience teaching high-impact practices.
Evidence of understanding the importance of curricular and community links, evidence of co-curricular development for students, and fostering belonging among students.
