The goal of the Housing Navigator is to provide participants with appropriate support services and community resources that contribute to long-term stability in housing.
This position provides trauma-informed navigation services with harm reduction principles.
This position will serve Housing Options Mean Everything (BE HOME-IDD).
Maintains service notes and documentation in required databases (ELMO and HMIS).
Regularly reports outcomes/progress and shares responsibility for required reports.
Provides technical assistance for general resources and housing needs for residents.
Primary Duties

These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review.
+ Provide supportive services and coordination with other agencies and Bayaud staff.
+ Makes appropriate referrals to other Bayaud programs and outside supports.
+ Assist with housing applications and gathering supporting documents for submission to Denver Housing Authority (DHA) and property management.
+ Perform research on local housing resources and initiatives as requested.
+ Facilitate HQS inspections and ensure Fair Market Rent according to HUD guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities
+ Maintains timely and accurate data entry, participant service notes and other documentation in required databases, including HMIS and E-Logic Database systems.
+ Track communication and follow-up for participant requests, navigation services, ancillary services and coordination with other internal and external partners for referrals as needed.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish working relationships with housing residents and community partners such as property management, Denver Housing Authority, etc.
+ Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of all materials in the work setting.
+ Remain culturally attuned to the people of the community being served, able to communicate, be sensitive and compassionate.
+ Be knowledgeable of the environment and systems through which the participant must move to access programs and services.
+ Engage in ongoing professional development and networking.
+ Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
+ Experience working with HMIS, and E-Logic database system preferred.
+ Availability and willingness to travel weekly outside of the local area to perform the job.
Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in human services or other related field and 1 year of experience in Human Services, Healthcare, Housing, or other related fields.
+ A valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required.
Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.
+ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent grammar and reasoning.
+ Creative problem-solving abilities with a practical, solution-focused mindset.
+ Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
+ Technologically proficient, including use of smartphones, tablets, laptops, and remote software.
+ Applies evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, and Mental Health First Aid to support participants.
+ Effective communicator with both participants and staff across various settings.
+ Independent project management skills with the ability to track and report outcomes.
+ Strong commitment to the agency’s mission and goals.
+ Demonstrated analytical skills, including interpreting documents, performing mathematical calculations (e.g., percentages, geometry, budgeting), and solving practical problems using various instruction formats.
