Lab126 began in 2004 as a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc., originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products.
Since then, we have produced devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, and Echo.
What will you help us create?
As a Compliance Engineer, you will be experienced in Radio Frequency (RF) and ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and product certification processes.
You will have familiarity with North American and Global standards and compliance requirements.
You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative wireless products.
You will work closely with internal interdisciplinary teams to drive key aspects of compliance requirement, design analysis, and compliance test.
You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed in an open collaborative peer environment.
You will contribute to org strategies that address evolving global wireless spectrum standards and requirements.
Your role will include solving ambitious and complex compliance challenges through research, engagement with regulatory agencies, hands-on testing, debugging, and validation activities.
You must be analytical, able to work effectively across multiple teams and have a strong ability to navigate the global regulatory compliance schemes to enable market access of consumer electronic products.
Additionally you must excel at communicating complex regulatory matters to design teams, driving compliant designs from early development phases, and make sound technical decisions that balance innovation with compliance requirements.
Key job responsibilities
- In this role, you will work closely with the product management team and design team by researching and specifying regulatory and industry compliance requirements.
- You will plan and direct compliance testing of hardware platforms, devices, and accessories with external 3rd party test labs.
- You will support the design team through product execution, and ensure we meet all applicable regulatory compliance requirements.
- When necessary, you will perform detailed, and independent research and literature reviews to yield actionable conclusions to ambiguous regulatory compliance issues.
- You will be responsible for delivering concise and informative compliance updates to leadership.
- You will also work with our manufacturing partners, labs to test and ensure all in-production devices remain compliant with all certifications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communication theory, OFDM, MIMO, Digital/Wireless Communication Systems or RF engineering
- 3+ years of regulatory and risk management experience
- 3+ years of antenna design related to 3G/4G technologies , Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth products experience
- 1+ years of consumer electronics experience
- 1+ years of experience in wireless router certification and homologations for international countries
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems, or experience in embedded wireless systems
- Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent
- Experience coaching senior leaders and managers with strong talent assessment skills
