**Job Description**

***Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph***

Hydromechanical Technicians are responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing boiler, chiller, and cooling tower systems in commercial mission-critical facilities.

This role ensures continuous and efficient operation of heating and cooling systems that support essential infrastructure.

Technicians must have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, schematics, and control systems, along with the ability to troubleshoot and quickly resolve issues.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Operate, inspect, and maintain boilers, chillers, and cooling tower equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections on hydromechanical systems, including pumps, valves, gauges, burners, compressors, and evaporators.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions with mechanical and control systems (pneumatic and electrical).
• Inspect and clean equipment regularly to prevent accidents and ensure reliability.
• Monitor performance data (fuel usage, system pressures, operating efficiency) and maintain accurate records.
• Perform small repairs (leaks, chiller tube cleaning, component replacement) and coordinate larger repairs with contractors.
• Oversee contractor work to ensure quality, compliance, and mission readiness.
• Install new or replacement equipment as needed.
• May be required to respond after hours for mission-critical work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Salary Rate: $45.00 to $55.00/hour + $4.98/hour Fringe

Positions covered by the McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) will comply with the statute requirements.

**Basic Job Requirements**

• Trade school diploma or completed apprenticeship.
• 4+ years of experience as a Boiler, Chiller, or Hydromechanical Technician.
• High School diploma or GED.

**Other Job Requirements**

• Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
• U.S. Citizenship required with valid driver’s license.
• Must demonstrate basic computer knowledge (e.g., email, internet, Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel).

Some positions may require advanced computer proficiency depending on program needs.

**Preferred Qualifications**

• Local candidates preferred.
• EPA Universal Certification.
• Prior experience as both a Boiler Technician and a Chiller Technician.Hydromechanical Technician
