**Your Impact**

As an Industrial Engineering Intern at Lowe’s, you’ll help streamline operations and enhance efficiency in a high-volume distribution environment.

You’ll work side-by-side with experienced engineers to optimize workflow, analyze performance data, and contribute to process improvement initiatives that support one of the largest home improvement supply chains in the nation.

Our 10-week summer internship program (May 26th - July 31st) immerses you in real-world retail operations.

You'll work directly with industry experts across our stores, distribution centers, and corporate offices, gaining practical experience through hands-on projects that make meaningful contributions to our business and communities.

**Deliver Success in Pottsville**

This internship is based at our facility in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.

**What You Will Learn**

+ Apply lean principles and industrial engineering methods to warehouse processes.
+ Analyze material flow, labor standards, and equipment utilization.
+ Develop recommendations to improve productivity, safety, and quality.
+ Use data-driven tools to support cost reduction and throughput improvements.
+ Collaborate with operations teams to implement and sustain process enhancements.
+ Participate in daily planning, performance reporting, and root cause analysis.

**Minimum Qualifications**

+ Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in industrial engineering, supply chain or related field.
+ Expected graduation dates of December 2026, May 2027, December 2027, or May 2028.
+ Effective verbal communication skills.
+ Physical stamina to alternate between sitting and standing for extended periods.
+ Basic computer proficiency.
+ Ability to wear required PPE and work a full shift with a meal break.
+ Physical capability to perform routine movements (bending, reaching, lifting, climbing) required in DC environments.

**Preferred Skills/Experience**

+ 3.0 cumulative GPA.
+ Proficient in MS Office programs (specifically in Power Point, Excel and data analysis tools).
+ Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical thinking, organizational and communication skills.
+ Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma (basic competency in DMAIC concepts), basic project management skills and/or time studies methodologies experience.

+ Relevant internship or co-op experience in industrial engineering or logistics is a plus.
+ Experience in a leadership role at work or within a campus organization.

**Working Conditions**

Environmental factors vary by location.

You may be working in both inside and outside weather conditions.

Exposure to varying climates, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions, is possible.

You may be exposed to constant or intermittent noises in addition to moving or shaking objects and equipment.

Lifting and moving merchandise methods will vary depending on role of associate, weight of merchandise, and/or volume of product; associates must follow lifting guidelines.

A single lift by one associate should not exceed 75 pounds (for Store associates) or 70 pounds (for Distribution Center associates) with or without an accommodation.

Team lifts should be utilized minimally starting at 75 pounds (for Store associates) or 70 pounds (for Distribution Center associates), or when an individual feels a lift is beyond their personal limitations.

Powered equipment should be used when needed depending on load and volume.

(Associate must have proper training to utilize powered equipment or ask a trained coworker for assistance).
