Pavilion of Bridgeview is seeking an Infection Preventionist RN to join their team! The Infection Preventionist RN assists with organizing and administering areas of Resident Care Services and infection prevention to attain person-centered care and the facility’s objectives.

The infection Preventionist RN ensures that programs and procedures are developed to assess, evaluate and meet the needs of the resident.

Infection Preventionist RN Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Implements standards of nursing practice in infection prevention reviewing and revising as necessary to reflect changes in nursing practice and resident population. 

  • Ensures clear, concise and current written policies and procedures are available to assist the staff and minimize risk factors infection prevention.

  • Recommends modifications, additions or deletions to nursing staffing plans to ensure reasonable hours and acceptable working conditions to provide optimal resident care coverage.

  • Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety, infection prevention, and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.

  • Plans and recommends to Director of Nurses equipment or modifications needed to provide resident care Serves as a member of professional staff committees in matters pertaining to resident care and national patient safety goals.

  •  Tracks and trends Infections, antibiotic stewardship, hand hygiene, vaccinations (Influenza, Pneumococcal, Tuberculosis, and Covid) 

  • Plans and coordinates with the Director of Nurses, utilizing the respective service managers for planning the budgeting requirements for staff, performance of work, supplies and equipment. 

  • Assist with implementing an effective, ongoing program to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care and infection control delivered to residents.

  • Develops and implements nursing staffing plans for the organization related to infection prevention.

  • Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations

  • Receives and transcribes physician’s orders to resident’s charts, Kardex/Care Medication Administration Record (“MAR”), treatment/care plans, as required.

  • Charts nurses notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided as well as the resident’s response to the care.

  • Documents all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards and policies.

  • Ensures that all aspects of resident care plans are implemented and maintained.

    Make recommendations for care plan changes to the IDT per professional standards.

  • All other duties, as assigned.


Infection Preventionist RN Skills and Abilities:



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Serves as the expert in Infection Prevention.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.

  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.

  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. 


Infection Preventionist RN Education and Experience:



  • Current CPR Certification required.

  • Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.

  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.

  • 1 year of experience preferred.

  • Long-Term care experience preferred.


Physical Requirements: 



  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.

  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards.

    Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
