Infrastructure and Software Implementation Specialist

Trillium Professional is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated IT Security System Infrastructure Implementation Specialist for their client in Troy, MI.

This role is crucial for the design, configuration, testing, and field deployment of complex physical security systems.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on expert responsible for programming, integrating, and validating a wide array of security hardware and software components in a dedicated lab environment, as well as performing on-site installations and providing field and remote troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

-Design, configure, and program a diverse range of security system components in a lab environment, including:

-IP cameras and advanced Video Management Systems (VMS).

-Storage Area Networks (SANs), ensuring optimal performance and capacity for security data.

-Network switches and routing protocols to establish secure and efficient security networks.

-Windows and Linux servers, configuring operating systems, applications, and security services tailored for physical security solutions.

-SQL server/databases for the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of security system applications and data.

-Other specialized security hardware devices and their associated software.

-Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and testing of hardware and software components in the lab to validate system designs and ensure operational readiness.

-Execute field installations and commissioning of physical security systems, ensuring successful deployment and integration with existing client infrastructure.

-Provide expert field and remote troubleshooting for complex security system issues, including hardware, software, network, and integration challenges.

-Collaborate closely with client and internal project management teams to translate system requirements into practical, deployable configurations.

-Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures, configuration guides, and system diagrams for both lab and field deployments.

-Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to security applications, server infrastructure, network connectivity, and field hardware, replicating issues in the lab as needed.

-Work proactively with vendor technical support for new installations, advanced troubleshooting, and the integration of system enhancements.

-Execute regular system upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning activities within both the lab environment and deployed systems.

-Participate in thorough field hardware and application testing, utilizing both development/QA environments and dedicated local test benches.

-Maintain and enhance existing security system software and hardware integrations.

-Contribute to the continuous improvement of lab infrastructure and testing methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

-Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure administration, network engineering, or security systems implementation, with a strong focus on lab-based configuration and field deployment.

-Proven experience with the configuration and programming of:

Enterprise-grade (Cisco) network switches, including VLANs, routing, and network security features.

-Windows Server and various Linux distributions.

-Storage solutions, particularly Storage Area Networks (SANs).

-IP cameras and major Video Management Systems (VMS) platforms.

-Strong understanding of network architecture, client/server systems, virtualization technologies and cybersecurity best practices.

-Sound troubleshooting skills for complex, multi-component IT and security systems, both remotely and on-site.

-Demonstrated ability to perform physical installations, cable management, and hardware mounting in a professional field environment.

-Ability to travel internationally as required for project support, field installations, or training (estimated up to 40-70%).

Preferred

Qualifications:

-Experience with specific physical security and VMS platforms such as iPro/Panasonic/VI, Avigilon Unity, Acre RS2 AIU, and LenelS2 OnGuard.

-Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and system management.

-Demonstrated experience with database administration, specifically SQL Server, including writing complex SQL queries for reporting, data manipulation, and troubleshooting.

-Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, RHCSA, Security+, CISSP, or other vendor-specific security/VMS certifications).

-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

-Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
