· ENGINEERING EXPERTISE - Collaborate with customers and internal teams to translate concepts into real solutions

· CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS - Serve as a trusted partner from first quote through production

· GROWTH - Open doors to new programs, partnerships, and revenue streams


Responsibilities:

The Sales Engineer reports to the Manager, Sales and Engineering and supports both new and existing customers.

This is an on-site role based in Addison, IL, with up to 30% travel - primarily throughout the Midwest, with occasional visits to accounts across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

· Identify and engage new business opportunities - Generate quoting activity from new or dormant accounts and convert opportunities into awarded programs

· Manage programs from quote through launch - Ensure handoffs are smooth and projects remain on track, on time, and aligned with customer expectations

· Translate customer requirements into manufacturable concepts - Review prints and 3D CAD files to assess feasibility and provide input to engineering and tooling

· Serve as the customer's primary point of contact - Build long-term relationships through responsiveness, technical support, and clear communication

· Collaborate on quoting strategy and feasibility - Partner with quoting and engineering teams to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive proposals

· Support strategic growth efforts - Share market insights and customer feedback with leadership to influence targeting and business development efforts

Qualifications:

Required:

· Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field

· 3+ years in sales, engineering, or technical program management

· Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as stamping, molding, or tooling

· Ability to interpret 2D drawings and 3D models

· Strong communication and customer relationship skills

· Self-starter with entrepreneurial spirit

Preferred:

· CRM or ERP experience for managing pipeline and customer data

· Quoting or cost estimation experience

· Basic understanding of pricing models, ROI, and capital justification

· Exposure to regulated or high-volume industries like automotive, aerospace, or electronics
