Duties/Responsibilities:

Design Creation & Development

  • Under the supervision of the lead designer, create visual content such as posters, flyers, social media graphics, and other digital assets to promote upcoming performances.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality.
  • Follow established workflows and file organization practices.

  • Utilize design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to complete assignments and tasks.
  • Prepare files for print and digital distribution with proper specifications.

  • Incorporate feedback from supervisor and others in the department to refine and improve designs.
  • Make revisions quickly and efficiently while maintaining creative integrity.

  • Contribute to the overall creative direction of marketing or communication strategies for the department.
  • Potentially support photography, video editing, or animation projects as needed.

Position Summary:

This student position reports to the Performing Arts Center’s Lead Designer/Publications Manager and provides support for a variety of visual marketing needs including concert programs, event posters, social media graphics, and more.

Schedule is approximately 10-20 hours per week.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position:

A student studying graphic design is preferred, although students from other majors with appropriate experience will also be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies :

Must be experienced with the Adobe Creative Cloud applications, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
